An Arteflame is a wood-fired flat top grill and griddle in one. A hardwood or lump charcoal fire burns in the center, under a round grill grate that passes 1,000°F for searing. Around it sits a round, flat steel griddle. On the 40" models it runs about 450–550°F near the fire and 250–350°F toward the outer edge. You sear steaks on the grate while vegetables, seafood, eggs or smash burgers cook on the steel, all over one fire. After dinner, lift the cooktop off and it is a fire bowl. Each one is a sculptural piece of heavy steel, made in the USA and designed to live outside year-round.

Why a grill and griddle combo?
- Sear and griddle at the same time. Steaks on the 1,000°F+ grate, sides on the steel, everything ready together.
- Heat zones without knobs. Slide food from the hot inner edge toward the cooler rim instead of turning a dial.
- No flare-ups on the cooktop. The solid steel sits between the fire and the food, so grease can't drip into the flames.
- Real wood and charcoal flavor. No propane tank and no burners to replace.
- A fire pit after dinner. Lift off the cooktop, add a few logs and keep the evening going.
Built to stay outside
Arteflame fire bowls and grill bodies are 10-gauge Corten steel, about 3.4 mm (0.135") thick. That is nearly twice the 14-gauge mild steel, about 1.9 mm, that many fire pits are made of. Corten is a weathering steel: outdoors it forms a rust-colored patina that protects the surface and needs no paint. The Stainless Series uses a spun stainless steel fire bowl instead. You always cook on a separate cooktop of hot-rolled steel, never on the Corten. Every Arteflame is made in the USA, ships free within the continental US and carries a 3-year limited warranty.
Grill or fire pit?
The difference is height. The grills stand on tall bases at cooking height. The fire pits sit low, about 22" high on their low bases, like a fire pit you pull chairs around. The 40" Fire Pit with Cooktop still has the same 1,250+ sq in cooktop. See all four in Fire Pits.

Questions
Which size Arteflame should I choose?
The ONE20 (20", 300+ sq in) suits small patios and 2–4 people. The ONE30 (30", 700+ sq in) cooks a family meal on a standard patio. The 40" models (1,250+ sq in) are built for hosting a crowd.
How long does an Arteflame take to heat up?
Allow 30–45 minutes after you light the fire for the steel cooktop to heat through. The center grill grate is ready for searing once the fire has burned down to a strong bed of coals.
Can it run on gas?
It burns hardwood or lump charcoal, with no propane tank or gas line. The 40" Classic, Stainless Series and fire pit models have a center hole in the fire bowl sized for a 1-inch gas pipe, so a professional installer can convert them to gas.
Corten or stainless steel?
Corten weathers to a warm, rust-colored patina and can stain light stone underneath while the patina forms. Stainless steel keeps a bright, modern look. Either way, you cook on the hot-rolled steel cooktop, not on the bowl.
How do I care for the cooktop?
Scrape it clean while it is still warm, then wipe on a light coat of oil, like a cast-iron pan. A seasoning puck comes with the ONE20, ONE30 and 40" grills. The fire burns off most of what is left.
What warranty do Arteflame grills have?
A 3-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, from the purchase date, for the original buyer and private, non-commercial use.
What happened to the XXL, One Series and Platinum names?
The grills are the same; the names changed. The XXL 40" with the high round or classic storage base is now the Classic 40" Grill with a Tall Round or Storage base. The XXL 40" with the high Euro base keeps the XXL name. The L 20" One Series is now the ONE20, the 30" One Series is the ONE30, and the 40" Platinum Series is the Stainless Series. The One Series 40 is discontinued.
