Arteflame Classic 40" Fire Pit

Each Arteflame Fire Pit is spun from a single piece of CORTEN steel — no welds, no seams — on the same industrial metal-spinning machine used to shape the dome of R2-D2 for Star Wars. That one-piece construction makes it the largest spun-steel fire bowl made in North America, with a smooth, organic shape you simply can't get from a welded fire pit.

Virtually, yes. Ten precision 1-inch holes in the base of the fire bowl feed the fire with air from below, so it burns cleaner and produces far less smoke than a typical open fire pit — just the glow and the gathering, without smoke in your eyes.

No cover needed. CORTEN, also known as "weathering" steel, is designed to be left outside year-round. Rather than rusting through the way ordinary steel would, it develops a stable, protective patina that actually changes color with the seasons — deepening from a soft amber to a rich, rusted bronze.

Very little. Empty the cooled ash after each use and let the CORTEN steel do the rest — there's no repainting, resealing, or covering required. The patina that develops over time is part of the look, not something to prevent.

CORTEN, also known as "weathering" steel, is built to outlast ordinary steel — typically 4 to 8 times longer. It's also self-healing: if the surface gets scratched or dinged, the exposed steel simply re-oxidizes and reseals itself with the same protective patina, so there's no bare metal left exposed to rust. That same patina gives it a rich, warm, ever-changing character that painted or powder-coated steel can't match, and it never needs repainting, resealing, or any other maintenance to stay protected.
