Introduction

Cowboy Butter is a rich, herb-infused melted butter with a touch of spice, perfect for drizzling over grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables. The Arteflame grill brings out the smoky flavor of grilled food, and this butter is the ultimate finishing touch to elevate your BBQ game.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (or more for extra heat)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

Step 1: Fire Up the Arteflame Grill

Light the Arteflame grill by placing vegetable oil-soaked napkins at the center and layering firewood over top. Let the grill heat up for about 20 minutes.

Step 2: Melt the Butter

Place a small, grill-safe saucepan on the flat cooktop near the edge of the Arteflame. Add the butter to the saucepan and let it melt slowly.

Step 3: Add Garlic and Seasonings

Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, parsley, chives, thyme, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 4: Simmer the Cowboy Butter

Allow the butter mixture to simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, to let the flavors blend. Be careful not to let it boil, as this can separate the butter.

Step 5: Serve

Once done, remove the saucepan from the grill and pour the cowboy butter into a dipping bowl. Use it as a sauce to drizzle over grilled meats, seafood, or vegetables straight from the Arteflame, or serve on the side for dipping.
