Arteflame Grilled Taco Bowls Recipe

Crispy Grilled Taco Bowls with Fresh Salsa

Introduction:

Taco bowls are a fun and versatile way to enjoy the bold flavors of tacos in an edible crispy shell. This Arteflame recipe combines perfectly charred proteins and smoky grilled vegetables with fresh toppings, all served in a homemade tortilla bowl.

Ingredients

For the Taco Bowls:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

For the Protein:

  • 1 pound ground beef, chicken, or plant-based meat
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Bowl Fillings:

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup black beans or grilled corn (optional)
  • 1/4 cup diced avocado
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or crema
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Arteflame Grill

  1. Light the Arteflame grill by soaking three paper napkins in vegetable oil, placing them under firewood, and lighting. Let the grill heat for about 20 minutes.
  2. Lightly oil the flat cooktop to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Make the Tortilla Bowls

  1. Brush both sides of each tortilla with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with smoked paprika and garlic powder.
  2. Drape the tortillas over an inverted oven-safe bowl or grill-safe ring. Place the setup on the cooler outer zone of the Arteflame grill.
  3. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy. Remove and let cool.

Step 3: Cook the Protein

  1. Heat olive oil on the medium-heat zone of the grill.
  2. Add your protein of choice and season with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook, breaking up ground beef or stirring chicken, until browned and fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes). Move to the cooler zone to keep warm.  When using ground beef, press down to get the juices out and have it crisp nicely.

Step 4: Assemble the Taco Bowls

  1. Fill each tortilla bowl with shredded lettuce, grilled protein, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and black beans or grilled corn.
  2. Add diced avocado and a dollop of sour cream or crema.
  3. Garnish with lime wedges and serve immediately.

Tips for Perfect Taco Bowls

  1. Sturdy Tortillas: Use large flour tortillas for the best shape and sturdiness.
  2. Balance the Heat: Use a mix of heat zones on the Arteflame to cook everything evenly.
  3. Custom Fillings: Add grilled vegetables, rice, or other toppings to personalize your bowls.

Variations

  1. Vegetarian Taco Bowls: Use grilled mushrooms or seasoned black beans as the protein.
  2. Seafood Bowls: Fill with grilled shrimp or fish and top with salsa verde.
  3. Breakfast Taco Bowls: Include scrambled eggs, grilled peppers, and bacon.
  4. Spicy Bowls: Add jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  5. Mediterranean Twist: Fill with lamb, tzatziki, and cucumbers for a fusion dish.

Pairings

  • Sides: Serve with chips and guacamole or Mexican rice.
  • Drinks: Pair with a margarita, cold cerveza, or iced tea.
  • Dessert: Finish with churros or grilled pineapple.

Conclusion

Arteflame Grilled Taco Bowls are a fun, flavorful way to enjoy tacos with a crispy twist. From smoky proteins to fresh toppings, these bowls offer a customizable, delicious experience for any gathering.
