Smoky Chicken Wings on the Arteflame Grill Recipe

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

For the Spice Rub:

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

For the BBQ Sauce (Optional):

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Prep the Wings:

    • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix the Spice Rub:

    • In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, and brown sugar. Sprinkle the spice rub over the wings, tossing to ensure they are well-coated.
  3. Preheat the Arteflame Grill:

    • Fire up your Arteflame Grill. Allow the cooktop to heat up evenly.
  4. Grill the Wings:

    • Place the wings on the flat Arteflame cooktop. Grill for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the wings are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and cooked through on the inside.
  5. Prepare the BBQ Sauce (Optional):

    • While the wings are grilling, combine all BBQ sauce ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Toss the Wings:

    • Once the wings are cooked, you can serve them as is, or toss them in the BBQ sauce for a sticky, sweet, and smoky finish.
  7. Serve:

    • Arrange the wings on a platter. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro if desired. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauces.
