Perfect Grilled Omelet

Kickstart your day with this delicious and fluffy omelet, cooked to perfection on the Arteflame grill. The unique cooking surface of the grill ensures an even sear without burning, making it an ideal tool for creating a mouthwatering omelet. Follow this step-by-step guide for a savory breakfast that's bound to impress.

Ingredients

    • 4 large eggs
    • 1/4 cup whole milk
    • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
    • 1/4 cup diced onions
    • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Fire Up the Grill

Start by firing up your Arteflame grill to get it ready for grilling. Ensure the flat cooktop is clean and lightly buttered to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.  For an extra smooth texture, pour the batter through a strainer before using it.  This will removes all lumps, etc. and result in a silky smooth texture.

Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables

On the flat griddle cooktop, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Cook until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 3-4 minutes. Push the vegetables to the cooler side of the grill.

Step 4: Cook the Omelet

Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the hot part of the griddle. Pour the egg mixture onto the cooktop, allowing it to spread evenly. As the edges start to set, gently lift them with a spatula, letting the uncooked egg flow underneath.

Step 5: Add Fillings and Fold

Sprinkle the sautéed vegetables and grated cheese evenly over one half of the omelet. Once the omelet is mostly set but still slightly runny on top, fold it over in half to cover the fillings. Let it cook for another minute to ensure the cheese melts completely.

Step 6: Remove and Serve

Carefully slide the omelet onto a plate. Garnish with freshly chopped chives and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Temperature Control: Use the different heat zones on the Arteflame grill to control the cooking speed. Move the omelet to a cooler area if it cooks too quickly.
  • Butter for Flavor: Butter adds a rich flavor to the omelet, making it more delicious than using oil.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.

Conclusion

Cooking an omelet on the Arteflame grill adds a unique twist to a classic breakfast dish. The even heat distribution ensures a perfect sear without burning, resulting in a fluffy and flavorful omelet.
