Grilled Cauliflower Steaks on the Arteflame Grill

Transform cauliflower into a delicious, smoky delight with this simple recipe for grilled cauliflower steaks on the Arteflame Grill. A fantastic vegetarian option, these steaks offer a hearty texture and are perfect for those looking to add more vegetables to their grill.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley, lemon wedges, or your favorite herb sauce

Equipment:

  • Arteflame Grill
  • Knife
  • Brush
  • Tongs

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower:

    • Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and trim the stem, ensuring it can sit flat. Slice the cauliflower head into thick steaks, approximately 3/4 inch thick. You should get about 3-4 steaks from one head, depending on its size.
  2. Season the Steaks:

    • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture on both sides of each cauliflower steak.
  3. Grill the Cauliflower Steaks:

    • Preheat your Arteflame Grill.
    • Place the cauliflower steaks directly on the flat top part of the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes per side or until they are tender and have nice sear.
    • Use tongs to carefully flip the steaks only once during cooking to ensure they get a good sear.
    • NOTE: For a stronger sear, place the Cauliflower steaks directly on the center grill grate.  This is very hot, so don't burn them!
  4. Serve:

    • Transfer the grilled cauliflower steaks to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped parsley, a squeeze of lemon, or drizzle with your favorite herb sauce.

Tips for Perfect Grilled Cauliflower Steaks:

  • Steak Size: Keep the steaks thick to prevent them from falling apart on the grill.
  • Even Cooking: If the edges cook faster than the middle, move the steaks to a cooler part of the flat top grill to finish cooking without burning.
