Arteflame All-Purpose Marinade Recipe

Versatile Marinade with Smoky and Tangy Notes

Introduction

This versatile marinade enhances the flavor of meats, seafood, and vegetables, making them grill-ready with a smoky and savory depth. Prepared on the Arteflame grill, the slight warmth while blending the ingredients allows the flavors to meld perfectly, creating a marinade that’s bold and balanced.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves (roasted, minced)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, or parsley, chopped)

Instructions

Step 1: Fire Up the Arteflame Grill

  1. Light your Arteflame grill by placing vegetable oil-soaked napkins under firewood. Let the grill heat for about 20 minutes.
  2. Place a small cast-iron skillet on the grill to gently roast the garlic.

Step 2: Roast the Garlic

  1. Roast the garlic cloves in their skins on the cooler edge of the cooktop for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until softened and fragrant.
  2. Peel and mince the garlic once cooled.

Step 3: Prepare the Marinade

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and honey (or brown sugar).
  2. Add the roasted garlic, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. Stir in the fresh herbs to complete the marinade.

Step 4: Use the Marinade

  1. Place your protein or vegetables in a resealable bag or shallow dish.
  2. Pour the marinade over the ingredients, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for the following times:
    • Meat (Beef, Pork, Chicken): 1-4 hours
    • Seafood: 15-30 minutes
    • Vegetables: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Step 5: Grill and Serve

  1. Remove the marinated items from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for even cooking.
  2. Grill on the Arteflame to your desired level of doneness, enjoying the infused flavors and smoky aroma.

Tips

  • Adjust Sweetness: Increase honey or brown sugar for a sweeter marinade.
  • Enhance Smokiness: Add a splash of liquid smoke or double the smoked paprika for a more pronounced smoky flavor.
  • Balance Acidity: Add more vinegar or a splash of citrus juice for a tangier marinade.

Variations

  1. Citrus Marinade: Replace balsamic vinegar with fresh lemon, lime, or orange juice for a bright, zesty flavor.
  2. Spicy Marinade: Add red chili flakes or sriracha for extra heat.
  3. Herb-Forward Marinade: Increase fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, or oregano for a more herbal profile.
  4. Asian-Inspired Marinade: Add a tablespoon of sesame oil and grated ginger for an Asian twist.
  5. Garlic-Lover’s Marinade: Double the roasted garlic for a bolder flavor.

Pairings

  • Meats: Perfect for beef steaks, pork chops, chicken breasts, or thighs.
  • Seafood: Ideal for salmon, shrimp, or scallops.
  • Vegetables: Great for zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus, or eggplant.

Conclusion

This Arteflame marinade is simple, versatile, and packed with flavor. It enhances your grilled dishes with smoky, sweet, and tangy notes, making it a go-to recipe for any grilling occasion.
