Grilled Shrimp Tacos and Fish Tacos

Shrimp vs. Fish Tacos Recipe by Bussin Eats

Experience a delicious face-off with Bussin Eats' Shrimp vs. Fish Tacos, grilled on the Arteflame. Choose your champion in this flavorful battle, where fresh seafood meets bold spices and toppings.

Ingredients:

For the Fish Tacos:

  • 1 lb lean white fish fillets (tilapia, halibut, mahi mahi, snapper, cod)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or canola)
  • Juice of 1 small lime
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 white corn tortillas
  • Creamy Taco Sauce (½ cup sour cream, 1/3 cup mayonnaise, Juice of 1 small lime, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp cumin, ¼ tsp salt, 1 tsp sriracha hot sauce)

For the Shrimp Tacos:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 cups Mexican Coleslaw (or shredded red cabbage)
  • 8 tortillas
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise mixed with 1 ½ tsp Mexican hot sauce
  • Cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Common Toppings:

  • Pico de gallo
  • Cotija cheese
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Sliced avocado
  • Lime wedges
  • Diced red onion
  • Hot sauce (Sriracha or Valentina)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Fish:

    • Season the fish fillets with salt, pepper, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne.
    • Let marinate for 15-30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp:

    • Toss the shrimp with olive oil, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and salt.
  3. Grill the Fish and Shrimp:

    • Preheat the Arteflame grill.
    • Grill the fish for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through.
    • Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Prepare the Tacos:

    • Warm the tortillas on the grill.
    • For fish tacos, flake the grilled fish and top tortillas with fish, creamy taco sauce, and preferred toppings.
    • For shrimp tacos, fill tortillas with grilled shrimp, Mexican Coleslaw, mayonnaise sauce, and garnishes.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve the tacos with lime wedges, extra toppings, and a choice of hot sauces.
