Roasted Garlic on the Arteflame Grill

Roasted garlic is a versatile ingredient that adds a mellow, sweet flavor to any dish. Cooking it on the Arteflame grill enhances its taste with a subtle smokiness. Here's how to roast garlic to perfection on your Arteflame grill.

Ingredients:
  • Whole heads of garlic (as many as you like)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Aluminum foil
Equipment:
  • Arteflame Grill
  • Knife
  • Aluminum foil
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Garlic:

    • Preheat your Arteflame grill.
    • While the grill is heating, prepare the garlic heads. Cut off the top of each head to expose the individual cloves. Be careful not to cut too much off; just enough to expose the cloves.
  2. Season:

    • Place each garlic head on a piece of aluminum foil large enough to fully wrap it.
    • Drizzle olive oil generously over the exposed cloves, ensuring they are well coated. This helps to soften the garlic and adds flavor.
    • Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper over the cloves.
  3. Wrap and Roast:

    • Wrap the aluminum foil around the garlic heads, making sure they are completely covered.
    • Place the wrapped garlic directly on the flat top part of the grill. Roast for about 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, or until the cloves are soft and golden.  To finish with extra char, shortly put the garlic on the center grill grate.
  4. Serve:

    • Carefully open the foil (watch out for steam) and let the garlic cool slightly before handling.
    • Squeeze the soft, roasted cloves out of their skins and use as desired. Spread on crusty bread, mash into dishes, or mix into sauces for a rich, sweet flavor.
Tips for Perfect Roasted Garlic on the Arteflame Grill:
  • Low and Slow: Roasting garlic requires gentle heat. The Arteflame flat top part of the grill is perfect for getting the garlic perfect without burning the garlic.
  • Check for Doneness: Garlic is perfectly roasted when the cloves are soft to the touch and have turned a light golden color.
  • Storage: Roasted garlic can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or frozen for longer storage.

Roasting garlic on the Arteflame grill not only imparts a delightful smokiness but also transforms it into a spreadable, flavorful addition to your culinary creations. Enjoy the depth of flavor roasted garlic adds to your meals!
