Indulge in Bourbon Smash Burgers, grilled to perfection on the Arteflame. Featuring a blend of cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, these juicy burgers offer a symphony of bold, smoky flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, caramelized onions
  • Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for the grill)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:

    • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the bourbon, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Let it marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Form Beef Balls:

    • Divide the marinated beef into eight equal portions and gently form them into balls.
  3. Preheat the Arteflame Grill:

    • Fire up your Arteflame grill, bringing it to a medium-high temperature.
  4. Oil the Grill:

    • Lightly brush the Arteflame grill cooktop with vegetable oil.
  5. Smash the Burgers:

    • Place the beef balls on the grill. Using a spatula, press down firmly on each ball to flatten into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Grill the Burgers:

    • Grill the patties for 2-3 minutes on one side until they develop a browned crust. Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of cheddar on four patties and a slice of pepper jack on the other four. Grill for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Toast the Buns:

    • Lightly toast the buns on the grill for about 1 minute until they're lightly golden.
  8. Assemble the Burgers:

    • On the bottom buns, place one cheddar-topped patty and one pepper jack-topped patty. Add any additional toppings and condiments as desired.
  9. Serve:

    • Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
