Bourbon Whiskey Smash Burger

Indulge in Bourbon Smash Burgers, grilled to perfection on the Arteflame. Featuring a blend of cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, these juicy burgers offer a symphony of bold, smoky flavors.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of pepper jack cheese
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, caramelized onions
- Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for the grill)
Instructions:

Marinate the Beef:
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the bourbon, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Let it marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Form Beef Balls:
- Divide the marinated beef into eight equal portions and gently form them into balls.

Preheat the Arteflame Grill:
- Fire up your Arteflame grill, bringing it to a medium-high temperature.

Oil the Grill:
- Lightly brush the Arteflame grill cooktop with vegetable oil.

Smash the Burgers:
- Place the beef balls on the grill. Using a spatula, press down firmly on each ball to flatten into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.

Grill the Burgers:
- Grill the patties for 2-3 minutes on one side until they develop a browned crust. Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of cheddar on four patties and a slice of pepper jack on the other four. Grill for another 2-3 minutes.

Toast the Buns:
- Lightly toast the buns on the grill for about 1 minute until they're lightly golden.

Assemble the Burgers:
- On the bottom buns, place one cheddar-topped patty and one pepper jack-topped patty. Add any additional toppings and condiments as desired.

- Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot.
