Introduction:

Elevate your outdoor cooking with this mouthwatering quiche recipe, perfectly adapted for the Arteflame grill. This dish brings the elegance of French cuisine to your backyard, combining a flaky crust with a creamy, savory filling. Whether you're hosting a brunch or wanting a sophisticated dinner option, this grilled quiche is sure to impress.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade pie crust)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup chopped spinach (fresh or frozen and drained)
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for added flavor

Tools:

  • Arteflame grill
  • Arteflame Pizza Oven
  • Cast iron skillet or a quiche dish suitable for grilling
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: If using a pre-made crust, fit it into your cast iron skillet or quiche dish. If you prefer homemade, roll out your dough and place it in the dish, crimping the edges for a decorative touch.

  2. Preheat the Grill: Fire up your Arteflame grill.  Make sure there is little to no fuel (charcoal / wood) directly underneath the pizza oven to avoid having the quiche crust bake faster than the top of the pie.  Put it the pizza grate and put the pizza oven on it.

  3. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, heavy cream, and milk until well combined. Stir in the cheese, ham, spinach, and onions. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Pour this mixture into the prepared pie crust.

  4. Grill the Quiche: Place the skillet or dish on the grill in the pizza oven. Cook for approximately 35-45 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown. Check regularly to ensure even cooking.  Move the pizza oven top to the outside of the grill if the quiche is cooking too fast.

  5. Rest and Serve: Once cooked, remove the quiche from the grill and let it sit for a few minutes to set completely. Slice and serve warm.

Conclusion:

This grilled quiche recipe is a fantastic way to enjoy a classic dish with the unique flavors that only an Arteflame grill can provide. It's perfect for any occasion and sure to be a hit with your guests.
