Ingredients

Grilled Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Glaze

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze

Smoky Sweet Potato Slices

  • 3 large sweet potatoes, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Charred Green Beans with Lemon & Garlic

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Grilled Cornbread with Maple Butter

  • 6 slices of cornbread
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Arteflame Grill
Fire up your Arteflame by placing three vegetable oil-soaked paper napkins at the center, stacking firewood over them, and lighting it up. Let the grill heat up for about 20 minutes.

  2. Grill the Brussels Sprouts

    • Move the halved Brussels sprouts to the outer cooktop area. Drizzle with melted butter and season with salt and pepper.
    • Grill for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and have a nice char.
    • Just before removing from the grill, drizzle with balsamic glaze for a tangy, caramelized finish.
  3. Smoky Sweet Potato Slices

    • Place sweet potato slices on the medium-heat section of the cooktop.
    • Brush with melted butter and season with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Grill each side for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Charred Green Beans with Lemon & Garlic

    • Move the green beans to a medium-heat section of the cooktop.
    • Drizzle with melted butter, sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
    • Grill for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently until they are tender-crisp and charred.
    • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the beans before serving.
  5. Grilled Cornbread with Maple Butter

    • Brush each cornbread slice with butter and place it on the outer area of the cooktop.
    • Grill each side for 2-3 minutes until lightly charred.
    • Drizzle maple syrup over the cornbread just before serving for a sweet, smoky flavor.

Tips

  • Use Butter: Butter adds richness and depth to each dish, giving your Thanksgiving sides a touch of luxury.
  • Keep It Moving: Turn the veggies frequently for an even char and to prevent burning.
  • Serve Immediately: For the freshest taste and perfect texture, serve each dish as it comes off the grill.

Thanksgiving Sides Variations

  1. Honey-Mustard Brussels Sprouts: Swap balsamic glaze with a honey-mustard dressing.
  2. Cinnamon-Spiced Sweet Potatoes: Add a touch of cinnamon to the sweet potatoes for a holiday twist.
  3. Parmesan Green Beans: Top the green beans with shredded Parmesan for a savory finish.
  4. Herbed Cornbread: Add rosemary and thyme to the melted butter for a fragrant cornbread.
  5. Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts: Add crispy grilled bacon pieces to the Brussels sprouts for an added smoky flavor.

Pairing Suggestions

These Thanksgiving sides pair wonderfully with grilled turkey, cranberry sauce, and classic stuffing. Add a crisp white wine or a spiced cider to complete the meal.
