Perfectly Grilled Chicken with Herb Butter
Experience the ultimate grilled chicken, seared to perfection with a flavorful herb butter glaze. This recipe brings out the best in chicken, using the unique features of the Arteflame grill to lock in juices and ensure a tender, juicy result.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil (for drizzling)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Grill
Fire up your Arteflame grill by placing vegetable oil-soaked paper napkins on the grill, stacking firewood on top, and lighting it up. Allow about 20 minutes for the grill to reach the optimal temperature.
2. Make the Herb Butter
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.
3. Season the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Drizzle a little olive oil over each breast and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
4. Sear the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts on the center grill grate of the Arteflame grill, which reaches over 1,000°F, for an intense sear. Sear each side for 2-3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
5. Cook on the Flat Top
Move the seared chicken breasts to the flat cooktop surrounding the grill grate. Spread the herb butter mixture over each chicken breast, allowing it to melt and infuse the chicken with flavor. Cook for another 8-10 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
6. Rest and Serve
Remove the chicken from the grill when it reaches 160°F (it will continue to cook off the grill to reach 165°F). Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Tips
- Resting Time: Always allow the chicken to rest after grilling to let the juices redistribute.
- Check Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked to perfection.
- Customize the Butter: Feel free to swap out herbs or add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the butter for extra flavor.
Variations
1. Grilled Chicken with Citrus Marinade
Marinate the chicken in a mixture of orange juice, lime juice, garlic, and cumin before grilling for a zesty twist.
2. Spicy Grilled Chicken
Add a tablespoon of sriracha to the herb butter for a spicy kick that pairs perfectly with the smoky grill flavors.
3. Mediterranean Grilled Chicken
Top the grilled chicken with crumbled feta, sliced olives, and a drizzle of tzatziki for a Mediterranean flair.
4. BBQ Glazed Chicken
Brush the chicken with your favorite BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of grilling for a sweet and smoky finish.
5. Herb and Garlic Rotisserie Chicken
Use the Arteflame rotisserie attachment to slowly cook the chicken, basting it with herb butter for a crispy, flavorful crust.
