If the chicken wings are just the appetizer, plan on 4 to 6 wings per person.  As a main dish, prepare 8 to 12 pieces per person.  (6 whole wings are about 1 to 1 1/4 pound).

8 Wings

3 tsp. cooking oil (like olive oil)
½ tsp. of garlic powder
½ tsp. of onion powder
½ cup Hot sauce / BBQ sauce / your preferred secret sauce.


Fire up the Arteflame so it's ready when the wings are ready to cook.

Rinse the wings under cool running water, then pat them dry (paper towels).

Put the wings in a plastic bag (or large bowl) and add 3 tsp. of cooking oil, ½ cup of your choice of sauce, salt and pepper to taste, garlic and onion powder.  Other flavors can also be added like herbs or paprika.  It's always fun to make a few batches and experiment with the flavors.  Have you tried wings with peanut sauce?!  (Mix peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and 1/3 cup water.  Then blend until smooth but thick)

Toss the wings well so they are coated evenly.  If time permits, leave to marinade for a couple of hours.  If hunger calls, go ahead and head for the grill.  (discard used marinade)

Use some cooking oil on the Arteflame and put the wings on the flat steel griddle part for 4 to 5 min. on each side. To add flavor, you can baste the wings with sauce while they cook.  (use fresh sauce, not the sauce used to marinade).

Cook until golden brown and the skin is crispy.
