Red, White and Blue Spaghetti on the Barbecue

Ingredients:

1 pound of cooked spaghetti

1 teaspoon of red food coloring

1 teaspoon of blue food coloring

2 teaspoons of olive oil

4 tablespoons of water

Instructions:

Heat up your Arteflame Grill to temperature.  Bring a pot of water to boil and add the spaghetti.  Boil until the spaghetti is al-dente.

Drain and rinse 2/3 of the spaghetti in water, then separate the spaghetti and half into 2 gallon size zip closure bags.

Next place the red food coloring into one bag and the blue into the other. Mix each bag with 2 tablespoons of water. Blend gently until the colors are absorbed.

Next you can rinse the excess color off the pasta before mixing them together.

For the remaining 1/3 of the pasta , add the olive oil onto it, so that the other colors don’t rub onto the natural color of the spaghetti.

Finally, mix the spaghetti noodles together just before serving. If you mix them ahead of time the colors may transfer to the other noodles.

Optional: for a stars and stripes look melt a white creamy cheese of choice on top and add some grated Parmesan cheese stripes! Enjoy
