Grilled Acorn Squash Two ways; Sweet and Savory

Ingredients:

Two butternut squash cut in half with seeds removed

1/4 cup maple syrup

4 tbsps butter

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp pumpkin spice

1-2 sausages thinly sliced 

1 cup of mozzarella cheese or preferred cheese

 

Directions:

Fire up the Arteflame grill to medium hot. Prepare the squash by cutting in half, removing seeds and scrapping excess flesh. Place in microwave for five minutes to soften. 

Then place on to the surface of the grill cooktop squash side down, skin up. After 15-25 minutes turn squash over and place skin side down. Ensure the squash is cooked by piercing with fork. If not done, place squash side down for a few more minutes. When squash is tender, designate one sweet and the other savory. In the two halves of the sweet squash at the maple syrup, butter, cinnamon and pumpkin spice. To the other squash and butter, sausage and the mozzarella cheese. Cook until the butter, spices and cheese soften. Plate and enjoy!
